Atlantic, 1939: On a Norwegian merchant ship, two friends Alfred and Sigbjørn get caught in a downward spiral of violence and death as World War II begins. German U-boats repeatedly attack the merchant convoy and sink ships. Meanwhile, Alfred's wife fights her way alone in Norway, afraid she will never see her husband again. When she is accidentally declared dead after a bombing raid, the news hits Alfred and Sigbjørn hard, and they question whether anything at all awaits them at the end of this cruel war. With epic imagery, "War Sailor" draws us into the time of World War II and depicts first-hand the fear as well as the struggle for survival.
