Black-humored action comedy about a thuggish Santa Claus.
Actually, Santa Claus (David Harbour) just wants to bring the presents, but when he comes across a group of mercenaries who have taken hostages on an estate, that's it for Silent Night. Instead of presents, Santa takes the hammer out of the bag in VIOLENT NIGHT. Because on Christmas Eve, nobody messes with Santa with impunity. Who would expect the real Santa Claus to be at the door? At least not the team around Ben (John Leguizamo), who has chosen Christmas Eve of all days to rob the estate of a wealthy family. Their second mistake is to underestimate him as a harmless gift-bringer with a razzle-dazzle beard, because where Santa reaches, no Christmas tree grows. Armed with fairy lights and tree decorations, he becomes a merciless end boss and gives them a bloody celebration, even if it wasn't on the wish list.
