Our program for the cinema week starting on Thursday will be published each Monday afternoon
The film focuses on a judge, a defense lawyer and a prosecutor who meet 28 witnesses during the trial who talk about their experiences and observations in Auschwitz. A further 11 witnesses from the former camp administration testify in court. The 18 defendants are confronted with descriptions of the witnesses during the trial and are asked to take a stand.
After the play "The Investigation. Oratorio in 11 Songs" by Peter Weiss. The play was first performed in 1965 and has lost none of its horror to this day: it is based on personal notes, newspaper articles and transcripts of the first Frankfurt Auschwitz trial (1963 to 1965).
