Challengers

In "Challengers", the new work by visionary filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, Zendaya plays the leading role of former tennis prodigy Tashi Duncan. The determined power woman now works successfully as a coach and has built up her husband (Mike Faist, "West Side Story") into a champion. However, because he is in a slump, Tashi persuades him to take part in a lower-class tournament in order to regain his former strength. However, the comeback plan takes a surprising turn when Tashi's husband has to compete against the failed Patrick (Josh O'Connor, "The Crown") - his former best friend and Tashi's former partner. As past and present collide and tensions boil over, Tashi must ask himself a crucial question: How far will I go to win?
